Courtney Smith, M.S., BCBA
Clinical Director
Courtney Smith is a doctoral candidate in the Behavior Analysis Program at the University of Nevada, Reno, where she researches the contextual factors that influence fluency—the mastery of a skill demonstrated through observable and meaningful outcomes. Her research is grounded in more than 12 years of experience at Fit Learning, where she has honed her skills as a precision teacher and behavior analyst. The integration of research and practice allows her to continuously learn about what influences learning itself and apply that understanding in ways that aim to contribute to those she works with—a value that guides how she approaches her work.
Why I joined the Fit Learning network:
As an undergraduate, Courtney’s focus was on making a difference in education and discovered Fit Learning while searching for practical experience to learn how to be an effective teacher. In doing so, she found a science-driven, individualized technology of teaching and a community of people who shared her values. She continues to appreciate the opportunity to work alongside this community that remains dedicated to transforming the educational experiences of all learners.
